Tenute Allegretti Casa was created by transforming existing old barns and sheepfolds into eight residential units, the result of a deliberate architectural choice: the apparent simplicity of the design is, in reality, the result of clarity and visual order, freedom of movement, and open perspectives. The quest to establish a dialogue with the surrounding environment and to understand the site—through careful observation of both tangible characteristics, such as topography, soil type, and vegetation, and intangible elements, such as atmosphere, sensations, and sounds—has made it possible to shape an architecture that is closely connected to the surrounding rural landscape. The overall volume has thus been divided into several building blocks that, in a horizontal layout, follow the natural contours of the terrain, blending seamlessly with it. Each building houses a different residential function, so that even the residents themselves, as they move from one building to another, experience the surrounding landscape as an integral part of their home.
